Overhead line surveys can be undertaken to fulfil numerous purposes through a variety of methods:
- Foot patrols as an individual service or a support mechanism to aerial imagery.
- Aerial Imagery
- Data Extraction, with risk assessment undertaken with reference to vegetation proximity, dangerous objects, land use and proximity to lines, information for STET GIS / CAD integration.
- Condition Assessment, including asset registers on steelwork and structure, insulators, conductors and binders, labelling and guards, ancillary equipment / apparatus, general environment.
- Thermal Inspections using thermo camera techniques
- Reports and Consultation including data and analysis to timeframes set by DNO’s.
- Asset location with GPS and XYZ co-ordinates.
